Questions about the MCP Server
What is MCP (Model Context Protocol)?
MCP is an open standard created by Anthropic that lets AI tools connect to external software. Think of it as a USB-C port for AI — one standard that works with every AI model. MCP has been adopted by OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and GitHub, with over 10,000 publicly available MCP servers. When you install the EasyWeek MCP server, your AI tool (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) can directly interact with your booking data.
Do I need to be a developer to use this?
No. Setup takes 30 seconds: open Claude, go to Customise → Connectors, paste the MCP server URL, and log in with your EasyWeek account. After that, you just talk to Claude in plain language: "Show me today's bookings" or "Cancel Maria's appointment." No coding, no config files, no terminal.
Where does my data go? Is it safe?
The MCP server is hosted on EasyWeek's infrastructure (Hetzner servers in Germany). When your AI tool requests data, it connects to our MCP server via a secure, authenticated connection. Your data never passes through third-party services. The connection is encrypted (HTTPS), authenticated via OAuth, and fully GDPR compliant. You can revoke access at any time from your EasyWeek dashboard.
How is this different from the EasyWeek API?
The EasyWeek API is a traditional REST API — you write code to call specific endpoints. The MCP Server wraps that API in a layer that AI tools understand natively. Instead of writing GET /api/v1/bookings?date=2026-03-21, you just tell Claude "show me tomorrow's bookings" and it handles the rest. No code, no API keys to manage — just connect via URL and authorise with your EasyWeek account.
What is agentic commerce and how does this connect?
Agentic commerce is the emerging paradigm where AI agents act on behalf of consumers — finding services, comparing options, booking appointments, and processing payments autonomously. Google AI Mode already books beauty appointments through partners like Fresha and Booksy. Stripe has built Shared Payment Tokens for AI agent transactions. Mastercard launched Agent Pay. EasyWeek is preparing for this future — today the MCP Server lets business owners manage their operations with AI, and we're building toward full consumer-facing agentic booking next.
Which AI tools are compatible?
Any tool that supports the Model Context Protocol. Today that includes: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, and any custom MCP client. OpenAI and Google have also adopted MCP, so ChatGPT and Gemini compatibility is expected. We'll update this page as new integrations become available.
